Burmese coat color is a form of partial albinism similar to the Siamese coat phenotype, but associated with a slightly less temperature sensitive mutated form of the tyrosinase enzyme. As a result, the pigment can only be developed on the extremities, but the coat on the torso is darker compared to the Siamese phenotype. Singapura cats can also have this coat type.
