The Lijiang Indigenous Dog was first found in the mid-level altitudes of Lijiang, in the Yunnan Province of China. The genetic makeup of this dog has been studied to develop a better understanding of the Tibetan Mastiff and how it evolved as a breed.
Currently, there are no known genetic conditions tightly associated with the Lijiang Indigenous Dog breed. As for all breeds, genetic screening is recommended.
There is no solid data on the personality and behavior of this breed.
