Afibrinogenaemia is a blood disorder in which the blood component, fibrinogen, is lacking. Fibrinogen is used in the clotting and coagulation cascade during injury.

Affected dogs can show signs of increased bleeding tendency. Clotting conditions are typically recognized during trauma or in preparation for surgery.
Hemostatic diseases are diagnosed with multiple blood tests that evaluate clotting times. Fibrinogen can be measured in the blood.
